The Malta Labour Party held a meeting with the MHRA to discuss its draft plan for economic and social regeneration on Tuesday.

This was the first of a series of meetings scheduled with the social partners during which the MLP is aiming to build a clear picture of the expectations those who want to help bring about economic and social regeneration have.Labour MP Charles Mangion said the document the MLP compiled speaks of the need to strengthen the tourism sector, the lack of competitiveness, economic development and foreign investment as well as the problem caused by bureaucracy.

Mr Mangion explained that the document was not fuelled by the party’s political ideas. The experts who compiled it only took the real situation in consideration, he said. After explaining that the MHRA agrees with the general idea of the draft plan, Mr Zahra said it is time that everyone pulls together for the good of the country.
