Fund-raising Marathon at Hilton

The programme of events will include a 12 hour spinning marathon, a 24 hour treadmill marathon, a 24-hour Squash-coaching marathon with the Maltese National Coach Paul Lake and a midnight squash tournament from 10pm to 6am.

There will also be children’s basketball with Don Ross, splash and fun sessions in the pool,

tennis coaching and other children’s activities. There is also a full programme of aerobic classes.

The Health Club will be open to everyone, including non-members. To take part in the spinning or any of the classes, participants are asked to raise money through sponsorship or donate a minimum of Lm5. Sponsorship forms are available from LivingWell reception.

The children’s basketball and splash and fun sessions will require a donation of Lm1 and adults can also use the facilities for Lm1. The crèche will be open from 9am to 5pm. Squash-

coaching can be booked at reception with a minimum donation of Lm5 for a 45-minute session.

Tennis-coaching can also be booked for a minimum donation of Lm1 for a 30-minute session and Lm3 for a one-hour session.

There will also be a charity auction at which people can put in closed bids for some fantastic prizes including two nights in the Presidential Suite at the Hilton Malta, meals in various restaurants, LivingWell membership, vouchers for CDs, jewellery, perfume and various other items. Bids are now being accepted until the event ends. All bids will be opened at the end of the event tomorrow and the highest bid for each item will win.

All the instructors and coaches are giving their time for nothing and all the money raised will be donated to the Malta Cancer Foundation for various projects including the purchase and installation of a new CT simulator,

costing around Lm300,000.
