Apparently the WSC, and Enemalta are tackling those who have long-outstanding bills and, as it happens – The Malta Independent is reliably informed – Dom Mintoff has an outstanding bill because, as claims, government owes him money.

Mr Mintoff, well-known for his tantrums when he was prime minister, raged at the Enemalta people for quite a long time and got them to withdraw but he had no such luck with the WSC people who came later.

He even got the police to go to his residence to sort out the trouble.

But the police, when they arrived, could do nothing more than state that they are powerless to stop WSC personnel from doing their duty.

Sources close to Mr Mintoff however said it was all a “misunderstanding” and should be solved in a short time.
