The young man was electrocuted, but the crane’s driver survived, although he had to be treated for shock.
An ambulance was called to the scene to rush the young man to hospital but despite several attempts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries and died one-and-a-half hours after the incident took place.
Members of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority are drawing up a report of the incident.
