Jacob (Jimmy) Grech, 49, from Zabbar, was arraigned in court late yesterday evening and had 19 charges brought against him. These included the abduction of his son, holding his son against his will, attempting to seriously injure two police officers by driving his Toyota MR2 towards them, slightly injuring them, threatening and assaulting them, driving dangerously and under the influence of alcohol, over-speeding, being drunk in public, breaching the peace, disobeying police orders and relapsing.

The court, presided over by magistrate Lawrence Quintano, granted Grech bail against a personal guarantee of Lm2,000.
