In response to a statement by the minister, the MUPP wanted to clarify that it approached the authorities over the course of a number of years to discuss certain issues, but never received any reply.

In a statement issued yesterday, the MUPP said it was surprised that the government did not approach the union to discuss any problems. The statement claimed the government is making threats because legitimate industrial action was taken.

The union is ready to meet with the authorities to avoid any inconvenience caused by the industrial disputes that have arisen.
