This assessment was presented to WastServ and although the council gave its opinion and raised concern on the negative effects of the plant on the locality, it felt these worries were not heeded.
The council made proposals to the Malta Environment and Planning Authority and although they were discussed with WastServ, the council still feels they were not taken into consideration.
In light of this, the local council said a meeting with the minister concerned should be held to discuss all the necessary points of argument.
In the meantime, the council is in the process of setting up an action committee that will not only include the council, but also a representative of each organisation in the locality.
