Etienne Micallef, 29, from Birkirkara and the teenager, also from Birkirkara, were charged with stealing furniture from a house in Valley Road Birkirkara on 16 November and the preceding two months. The items, valued at over Lm500 but less than Lm1,000, were stolen from a residence belonging to Mary Arrigo.

The teenager was granted bail against a deposit of Lm100 and a personal guarantee of Lm1,000. Mr Micallef was allowed to begin a drug rehabilitation programme.

Police inspector Victor Aquilina prosecuted.
