While I look forward to meeting the management team and employees over the coming weeks, I am confident that the BOV team will continue to perform to high standards over the forthcoming financial year and, through the implementation of the bank’s strategic plan, will continue to achieve sustained positive results and to maximise shareholder value”, concluded Mr Chalmers.

Mr Chalmers, a chartered accountant, was formerly the senior partner of Coopers and Lybrand in Hong Kong, and the chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers Asia Pacific. He also served as a non-executive director of the Securities & Futures Commission in Hong Kong, and as a member of the Banking Advisory Committee.
