Woman Accused of assaulting police officers in court

Carmen Spiteri, aged 37, was charged with assaulting police inspector Nadia Lanzon, two sergeants and a police constable on 13 November inside the law courts building in Valletta.

She was also accused of inciting others to seriously injure the police officers, breaching the peace and using obscene language in public.

The woman was further accused of insulting the officers, disobeying police orders and impeding them from carrying out their duties, relapsing in view of previous convictions and breaching the terms of a conditional discharge.

Police inspectors Alexander Grech and Ramon Mercieca prosecuted.
