Luxol ended the first round on a positive note, with their third win on Wednesday. They had a bright first session but then were forced to share the play for the rest of the game. At the interval it was a 28-16 game.

After the break Luxol opened with an 11-2 run. They had a good 41-30 lead after three sessions. In the final quarter both teams tired out, and errors on both sides kept the scoring down.

Kerygma could never get near enough and Luxol were never in any fear of losing the match.

Hibs Go Mobile 86

Qormi Seiko 18

(22-5) (20-5) (26-3) (18-5)

Hibs’ winning streak in the league was never in any doubt, as they recorded a double over hopeless Qormi, with an initial victory in the Shield. Beverley Zammit was missing from Hibs’ line up and Qormi had Kathleen Gouder on the absent list. Hibs were all over Qormi straight from the start, with 12-1 and 10-2 runs, and the pattern continued in the second session, with Qormi only able to reply at intervals. .

After the break things went worse for Qormi, as Hibs, making full use of their bench players, were still strong enough to hit Qormi repeatedly.
