Saviour Darmanin Joins Birkirkara

Malta Independent Wednesday, 26 January 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Premier side Birkirkara yesterday signed national team goalkeeper Saviour Darmanin on loan till the end of the season from Pieta Hotspurs (pictured).

On Saturday the Stripes also brought over another goalkeeper, Ninos Grlic from Serbia. He is still on trial with the Stripes, but in view of the fact that Birkirkara would have had to do away with one of their foreigners if they agreed on a deal with Grlic, they preferred to go for Darmanin, at least at this particular moment. Grlic could still join the Stripes next season. The Stripes will revise their options at the end of the season when both goalies, Justin Haber and Saviour Darmanin, will have their contracts expiring.
