Matthew Asciak (tennis)

Won a Small States tournament and was a finalist in the doubles event in the same tournament. Participated in the European Tennis Association event and won a Euro tournament at the VLTC, won the San Michel international junior Open in the doubles and was a finalist in the singles event. He took parts in several tournaments abroad, particularly Cologne, Palermo, Belgium and Paris. Also played in the world championships in the Czech Republic and has won the national doubles championship.

Benji Borg (sailing)

Was his last year in the Optimist class. Was voted as the best sailor of the year. He won the Foundation Day regatta and the Musto Regatta, finished second in the Firetech Regatta and third in the Ramla Bay Regatta and the national championships. Abroad, he finished a creditable 84th from 135 participants in a regatta in Campobasso in Naples, Italy, was fourth in the Island Games in the Canary Islands and again 84th from 258 competitors in the Ecuador international championship. He also finished second in the Euromed Championship held in Malta.

Tiziana Carannante (bowling)

Won the gold medal in the Great Britain Junior Open championship, was first in the girls masters (first division), second in the girls singles (first division), third in the girls doubles (first division). Also finished third in the Masters finals. Won the Juniors national championship organised by the local bowling association.

Divina Mangion (swimming)

Won two gold medals, two silver and a bronze in the last edition of the FISEC Games in Malta. Finished second in an international meeting in Portugal and also won three categories in the national championships organised by the ASA.

Roderick Muscat (cycling)

Won the national junior championship, apart from having won all junior races staged throughout the year. Finished third in the Tour of Malta and was first Maltese cyclist home.He took part in the world championship for juniors and finished 58th from among 175 competitors. He managed a better placing that cyclists from the other small countries. In other races, in Sicily, he finished 10th from 450 participants, won an inter club competition in Belgium and finished in front in the standings for sprint, mountain and overall. He also won a race in Belgium and was second in another. Finished 10th in the Tour of Ireland for juniors and second in the category for sprinters. Also took part in the Tour de Vallers de Hemonseior in France and placed a highlky creditable 11th from 166 riders.
