Two of Malta’s top rock bands, Bitterside and Scream Daisy, kicked off the New Year by releasing new singles. In Bitterside’s case, the song, Drop of Wine, is lifted off their 2004 debut CD Somehow Different, which also helped them win the Best Band category at the Bay Music 2004 Awards. Drop of Wine is a catchy tune in the vein of previous releases such as Fire In My Pocket and In Me, although it carries a more romantic trait than anything on the album. Comeback is the name of Scream Daisy’s latest single. Not only is it a brand new song, but it also heralds a new line-up for the popular band. Comeback was launched with a live performance at The Alley last week. All proceeds from the sale of the single, which costs Lm3, will go to SOS Malta, an organization involved in collecting funds to aid the tsunami victims in Asia.
