Paul Lake Selected to be a European Squash Federation tutor

Malta Independent Wednesday, 2 February 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Malta Squash national coach Paul Lake has recently been chosen from coaches across Europe to be a European Squash Federation (ESF) coaching tutor.

The position requires Lake to travel around Europe to assist other countries with their squash coaching development work and to hold level 1 coaching courses.

Successful candidates on theses courses will be awarded the ESF coaching Diploma that is recognised throughout Europe.

Malta Squash hope to benefit from this new appointment and hold themselves a level 1 coaching course giving players in Malta the chance to obtain a European wide recognised diploma. Over 32 hours ‘on court’ work is required over two weekends, with four weeks in between to give potential coaches the chance to practise their new skills.

Malta Squash secretary Liz Said is hopeful that the MOC and the Maltese Council for Sport will assist in promoting and funding the coaching diploma and will be holding talks in the coming weeks.
