The Eurosport player of the month for December is Steve Schembri, who plays for BUPA Luxol. This has been the first season for Schembri with Luxol. He is also a national team player and has also received the ‘Player of the Year’ award in the past.

Albert Spiteri is January’s Eurosport player of the month. Spiteri spent a number of years playing for Rabat Depiro, however, he has been playing for Hamrun Liberty Go Mobile for these last three seasons. Spiteri was a national team player and won the silver medal in the GSSE of 1997 held in Iceland.

The December and January Peugeot women players of the month are sisters and both form part of the national team. Lucienne Bezzina, who plays for Hibernians Go Mobile won the December award. Last season Bezzina also was awarded the ‘Player of the Year’ award.

The January Peugeot Player of the month is Dorianne Galea. She plays for Depiro Still. Galea is also the captain of the national team. Interesting to note is that both Bezzina and Galea are part of the Golden Girls, having won the gold medal in the GSSE 2003, which was held here in Malta.

The players of the month for December and January have all been awarded this honour before.
