I have been informed by the MFA’s PRO, Alex Vella, that the association’s Referees Board is not satisfied with what appeared in my contribution (Premier League round-up) in last Wednesday’s issue.
Then I quoted the referee of the match between Birkirkara and Hibernians as having said that the reason for Saviour Darmanin’s dismissal was ‘because of serious dangerous play’.
To be fair, it should have read ‘because of serious foul play.’
Vella explained that there is a difference between dangerous and foul when it comes to sanctioning players through a yellow card or a red card.
I just hope they are satisfied now.
