After discussing the incident involving Ndubisi Chukunyere which occurred at the end of Hibernians’s league match against Valletta last Saturday, the club’s Executive Committee decided to take disciplinary action against the said player.
No details of sanctions against the Nigerian player were disclosed in the club’s press release issued yesterday by secretary Stephen Abela.
In the meantime, Chukunyere made the following signed declaration to the media:
“I would like to make a public apology for my behaviour, which was most unbecoming, at the end of the Premier League match against Valletta which was played at the National stadium.
Although I was provoked by a small section of Hibs supporters, I now realise that my reaction was unprofessional and as such I am accepting the disciplinary measures taken against me by my club.”
