Malta Independent Thursday, 10 March 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Steve Trew, ex-British Triathlon coach and commentator for the BBC at the Athens Olympics last summer, will be conducting another training camp for the Maltese Triathletes next month.

Trew, who has been a regular visitor to our shores as an athlete, coach and tourist, will be conducting his second camp, in his capacity as national Triathlon coach. The camp, which will last 10 days, is expected to be a very intensive one, with a special emphasis being placed on both the theory and the practice of the modern sports of triathlon.

In the meantime, Triathlon once more featured highly at the recent Sportivi Nazzjonali, where local champion Maria Mifsud Bonnici, finished second behind swimmer Angela Galea.

Mifsud Bonnici, who won this honour two years ago, had a successful 2004, when she finished second in the Triathlon Championships of the Small States of Europe and won all the races she took part in in Malta.
