Zejtun
The parish centre in Zejtun is holding a life-size exhibition of the washing of the disciples’ feet.
The exhibition, which officially opened yesterday, also includes antique frames and plates related to the Eucharist.
On Maundy Thursday, the exhibition will be open between 9am and 12 noon and 6pm and midnight. On Good Friday, the opening hours will be from 9am to 12.30pm and from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Dingli
The Ghaqda Muzikali Sant Marija of Dingli has set up a Last Supper Table and an exhibition of Good Friday statuettes at Dar Dun Bosco in Dingli.
It is open between 6pm and 10pm today and tomorrow. On Maundy Thursday, the opening hours are from 4pm until 11pm, on Good Friday from 8am till 1pm and on Saturday from 8am till 12 noon.
Vittoriosa
A display of Good Friday statues has been set up at the St Dominic convent in Vittoriosa and will remain open till Easter morning.
The exhibition will be open today and tomorrow from 5pm to 8pm and on Maundy Thursday from 9.30am to 12 noon.
Opening hours on Good Friday will be from 10am to 12 noon and 4pm to 8pm. On Easter Day the display can be viewed between the hours of 9am and 12 noon.
Rabat
For the 10th year, the Ladies’ Circle of the Count Roger Band club have set up a Holy Week exhibition that that will remain open until Good Friday.
The exhibition is being held in the hall of the club in Main Street, Rabat.
Today and tomorrow the exhibition is open for viewing from 9am till 12 noon and from 4pm till 8pm. On Maundy Thursday, it will be open between 9am and 12 noon and 4pm and midnight, while on Good Friday the exhibition will be open from 8am till 12 noon and from 3pm until 10pm.
Mellieha
An artistic display of the Last Supper Table and statues depicting the Passion of Christ have been set up in Mellieha parish centre hall for the 25th consecutive year.
The exhibition is the result of the work of young people who have dedicated their free time to make these statues.
Visitors will see 140 decorative plates and frames made from rice and semolina representing religious symbols and scenes from the life of Christ.
To mark the 25th anniversary of this event, a photographic exhibition is also being held. The exhibition will be open to the public from 9am to 9pm today and tomorrow, on Maundy Thursday all day until 11pm and on Good Friday and Easter Vigil until 1pm.
Cospicua
Members of the Cospicua Domus Pius IX have come together once again to produce a Last Supper Table made up entirely of decorative plates using rice, salt, flour and cereals, as well as a Golgotha exhibition representing the Passion of Christ.
The display can be viewed from today until Saturday from 8.30am to late at night, while the opening hours on Easter Day will be from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
Lija
Lija Parish has set up a Last Supper Table which includes a 15-minute commentary in both English and Maltese.
The display will be opened and blessed tomorrow and can be viewed on Maundy Thursday between 7pm and 10pm and on Good Friday between 9am and 12.30pm.
Luqa
Luqa St Andrew’s Band youth section is putting on a display at its premises to mark Holy Week.
The exhibition includes terracotta depictions of the Passion of Christ by Christopher Ebejer as well as a series of paintings and sculptures by local artists. The club is also setting up a Last Supper Table. A re-enactment of the Last Supper will also take place on Thursday at 8pm
The public may view this exhibition on weekdays between 5pm and 8.30pm. On Maundy Thursday and Good Friday it will be open all day.
Gzira
An adoration of the Eucharist will be held at 11pm on Maundy Thursday to mark the beginning of the Holy Week activities organised by the Gzira Mount Carmel Band Club.
At 7.15am on Friday, the club will be organising an outing to Gozo to see the Good Friday procession and Holy Week exhibitions. On Easter Sunday the band will accompany the statue of Christ Resurrected at 10am in Gzira and again at 6.30pm in Valletta and will also be holding a buffet lunch at the Soreda Hotel in Qawra at 1pm.
Valletta
A Last Supper Table will be on display as from today at the oratory of the Arch confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament in Valletta, where it will be opened and blessed by Fr Charles Fenech at 6.45pm.
The exhibition will be open today, tomorrow, on Thursday and Good Friday from 9am to 12.30pm and from 4pm to 10pm.
Cospicua
A set of Good Friday statues will be exhibited in Cospicua at the residence of Charles Cilia in Nelson Street.
Today and tomorrow the display will be open between 4.30pm and 9pm. On Maundy Thursday the exhibition may be viewed between 9am and 1pm and 4pm and 12 midnight while on Good Friday it will be open from 9am until 1pm and from 4pm until 10pm.
Rabat
A Holy Week exhibition depicting the Passion of Christ can be viewed at 46 College Street, Rabat.
On Maundy Thursday the exhibition will be open between 9.30am and 12 noon and 7.30pm and 11pm, on Good Friday between 9am and 12 noon and 4.30pm and 8pm. On Easter Saturday the display may be viewed between 9.30am and 12 noon and 5pm and 7pm. The opening hours on all other days are from 5.30pm to 8pm.
Birkirkara
Mr Alfred Muscat will be holding an exhibition of Good Friday statues, decorated in the style of a church.
The exhibition will be held until Easter Day at 56 Main Street, Birkirkara from 4.30pm to 8.30pm on weekdays and from 9.30am to 12 noon and 4pm to 8.30pm on Saturday and Easter Day.
Zabbar
Joe and Darren Bonavia are holding an exhibition of artistic Good Friday statues in clay and papier-maché .
The exhibition will be open until Saturday at Dar il-Hena, Sanctuary Street, Zabbar from 6pm to 9pm on weekdays and from 9.30 to 12 noon and 5pm to 9pm on Saturday and Easter Day.
Fleur-de-lys
This year the parish feast committee of Fleur-de-Lys has organised a Holy Week exhibition. On the initiative of some committee members, together with a group of helpers, the scene of Jesus meeting the disciple on the road to Emmaus’ has been set up.
The display consists of life-size statues made by statuary Paul Aquilina from Gozo.
Another attraction in this exhibition is the burial of Jesus, where visitors can see the body of Jesus laid in His tomb.
An artistic set of small statues are also on display.
Every one is invited to attend and admittance is free.
The exhibition is set up in the premises of the Feast Committee which is located behind the Parish Church. Entrance is through Triq Vlontin.
