Hibs beat their rivals Depiro but had to fight hard against a depleted side. Depiro had a good start to the match, going ahead and opening their lead and they maintained the pace at the start of the second quarter, to lead 20-13. Hibs started to click and till the end of the quarter they ran up a 10-0 break, and were leading 23-20 at the interval buzzer.

After the break Hibs kept control of the match as Depiro were finding life difficult under the boards.

Beverlee Zammit sank a couple of treys for Hibs to extend their lead, and after three sessions it was a 39-27 game.

In the last quarter Depiro threatened to come back in the game but Hibs held on and prevented any late insertions by their opponents, to ease through and make up for lost honours earlier on in the season.

In a closely fought match, decided in the last seconds, Luxol had the better of Naxxar, though the former are still favourites to land in the third place in the play offs, despite the fact that now both teams equal on points with a game to go.

Luxol started with a Kirsten Micallef trey, but it was Naxxar who were leading after the first session.

Luxol still kept pace in the second quarter, but Naxxar made an 8-0 run, with free shots till the interval, to lead 29-20.

After the break the Violets opened up with their treys, getting near once more, and then they also had a better ending to the session, to jump into the lead, with a Ruth Spiteri hoop, at 36-34.

Naxxar overhauled Luxol in the final quarter, and led for some time, before Luxol, aided by a Debbie Gingell Littlejohn trey, went ahead again.

Naxxar recovered to tie the game but Kirsten Micallef decided the issue with her free throw.
