The BJ’s charitable music marathon kicks off today for the 16th consecutive year.
The marathon highlights live music while raising money for charity.
Over the years, the marathon has raised over Lm96,000 for various charities including Caritas, the Institute for Brain Injured Children (IBIC), Torball for the Visually Impaired, Dar Tal Providenza, the Eden Foundation, children needing medical intervention overseas and many more.
This year, as has been done for the last few years, the marathon shall be collecting donations for Wishing Others Well (WOW) – the social arm of the Millennium Chapel run by Fr Hillary Tagliaferro.
“The sterling work that Fr Hillary has been doing for people is commendable and deserves our backing,” BJ’s manager Philip Fenech explained.
The marathon is a non-stop live music event, starting at 5pm today and continuing both day and night for a week.
Those interested in performing can contact Philip on 99493534 or call in at BJ’s nightclub, Ball Street, Paceville any night after 10pm.
Every genre of music is welcome including rock, jazz, blues, folk, soul and classical. The only condition imposed by BJ’s is that it must be played live.
