St Patrick had an easy outing against bottom-placed B’Bugia WM who only managed three shots at goal in the whole 80 minutes with Saints’ keeper Wayne Vella having an easy afternoon.
St Patrick forged ahead after only one minute, Horace Pace crossed to Cedric Calleja, B’Bugia’ keeper partially saved his shot and Ayrton Duncan shot in the rebound. Calafato then palmed the ball away off a Lawrence Buhagiar cross and Darren Mercieca drove over B’Bugia’s bar.
It became 2-0 on 11 minutes. Buhagiar crossed to Clive Grima, Calafato partially saved and Mercieca shot in the rebound and six minutes later Mercieca scored number 3 after Domenici had hit the base of the upright.
The Saints resumed their dominance and scored a fourth goal on 24 minutes when Buhagiar put Domenici through who netted with a lobbed ball. Six minutes before the interval B’Bugia pulled one back through a grounder by Wayne Hamer after being put through by Lydell Bonnici.
Assured of the result, the Saints eased their pressure after restart but still managed to add three further goals to their tally. Grima crossed to Calleja who scored from inside the area and and on the hour Domenici scored a beauty with a rising shot after a Grima through ball to make it 6-1.
Calafato then saved on the same player with a diving save to corner and also saved on Mercieca after a Buhagiar through ball.
Ten minutes before the end St Patrick scored their seventh and final goal through Domenici who won a loose ball in his opponents’ half and netted on entering the area.

The Stripes had an easy passage to the quarter-finals. They will now cross swords against Mgarr U.
B’Kara went straight on the offensive and Tarxien keeper Nicholas Farrugia turned to corner a shot by Paulvic Xuereb after a shot by Thomas Camilleri was partially cleared. They opened the score on five minutes through Neil Hales after being served with a long throw-in by Geoffrey Spiteri.
Farrugia had to dive and save to corner a Camilleri shot after a Joseph Zerafa through ball and a header by George Marinov missed Tarxien’s upright after a Spiteri flag kick.
In a rare Tarxien attack, Joseph Cutajar put Michael Zammit through but Stripes’ keeper Mark Sciberras foiled him with a timely sortie.
B’Kara doubled on 23 minutes. Hales crossed to Zerafa who netted from the edge of the area and also scored a third goal a minute before the break when Camilleri won a loose ball in midfield, advanced and scored on entering the area.
The fourth goal arrived on 56 minutes. substitute Troy Zammit was put through in the area, he was tripped by a Tarxien defender and Camilleri converted the resultant penalty.
Camilleri then put Zammit through but his shot missed the upright. Nicholas Abdilla put Michael Zammit through but Sciberras foiled him with a timely sortie.
Eight minutes before the end Zammit scored number 5 after a Mark Cremona square pass.
