World Pool Championships: Good Start with three wins for Malta

The Maltese national pool teams started their battle in the World Pool Championships that are being held in Blackpool, England. Fifteen countries are participating in these championships that are being played on a span of 12 days.

Malta Men Team had a good start by registering three victories in a row. In the first encounter Malta beat Channel Islands 14-7 while in their second game crashed Belgium 18-3. Malta continued with their winning strike and in the third game by overwhelmed West Indies 12-9. In the fourth and most exciting game Malta was beaten by India 12-9. After the first day of play Malta is holding in second place. Yesterday Malta ‘s next opponents are South Africa and Northern Ireland.

The juniors national team had a negative start. Narrowly beaten by 8-7 in the first game against Channel Islands, the Maltese youngsters did not manage to overcome their stress and were twice beaten with a 10-5 score by Wales and Ireland.
