A 28-year-old man from Birkirkara was given a suspended prison sentence yesterday for stealing cosmetics worth between Lm100 and Lm1,000 from a supermarket.

Clint Micallef was found guilty of stealing the cosmetics from SISA supermarket in Sliema on 11 March 2004.

The court, presided over by magistrate Saviour Demicoli, noted that the Micallef had cooperated with the police and had returned the items he had stolen. He was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, suspended for three years.
