The Seventh Masters football tournament will be held today at the Hibs Ground in Corradino.

Taking part are Sliema, Valletta, Hibernians and Floriana, Hamrun and Zurrieq.

Sliema won the first edition; Valletta the second and third and ended on equal points with Hibernians in the fourth tournament. Hibs lifted the cups of the 5th and 6th editions.

The six teams were drawn in two groups with Zurrieq, Floriana and Valletta in group 'A' and Sliema, Hibs and Hamrun in group 'B'.

These 11 a-side football tournaments organised by Eddie Vella are achieving the set goals. The players of the participating teams had spent most of their carreers at the Gzira Stadium. Most of these players had represented Malta in international games.

Besides reviving their competitive spirit, they also rekindle their friendship and exchange memories of the distant past during a small reception after the final game.

The games will be controlled by retired MFA officials. Special thanks go to the Directors of SEDQA and Lowenbrau who are assisting with sponsorships.
