Malta's Alex Borg reached the semi-finals of the 2005 European Snooker Championships in Poland yesterday when yesterday afternoon he beat Reind Duut of Holland 5-3 in the last 16 stage and later he went on to beat Stefan Mazrocis convincingly in the quarter-finals 5-0.
Earlier Borg, seeded No. 3, had won through to the last 16 stage when he beat Poland's newly crowned champion Rafal Jewtuch 5-2.
Malta's other competitor, Simon Zammit, had been eliminated in the last 32 stage when he was defeated 5-2 by David Morris of Ireland.
Borg’s next opponent in the last four is Morris.
