Justin Haber has signed a new deal with Trophy holders Birkirkara.
The goalie has signed a long-term contract, which will probably bind him to the club till the year 2010.
Last season, the Stripes also had Saviour Darmanin on loan from Pieta as from January, but it is unlikely they will go for his services again.
Meanwhile, the Chucks Nwoko era at Birkirkara seems to be coming to an end. Talks held during the past few days have led to no agreement and it seems that he is now looking for a new club.
Sliema have been reported to be showing interest, but Marsaxlokk, who are now under a new committee, may also eye the former Malta international as a possible target.
Birkirkara yesterday also said that there is absolutely no truth in rumours that the club was interested in a Matthew Calascione-Massimo Grima swap.
Club secretary John Borg said he expected Calascione to sign a new contract within the next few days. He said he was almost sure that Calascione would wear the Birkirkara jersey again the coming season.
Borg also said that three foreigners from new EU member states are to arrive in the next few days to go on trial with the club, possibly from tomorrow week.
