The Malta Basketball Association will once again give the opportunity to those girls born in 1990 or after (Under 13, Under 11 and Under 9) to attend basketball training sessions at Ta’ Qali every Saturday morning between 9 and 11.30am during summer.
These basketball sessions, to be sponsored by Eurosport, will be held under the supervision of Carlo Farrugia who is the current national coach of all the female national selections and who has won several honours both on the local and international sphere. Farrugia has a vast knowledge in coaching skills and techniques and is currently the Director of the Coaching Commission within the Malta Basketball Association. He has also gathered further knowledge of the basketball game through working closely with the top Italian coach Santino Coppa.
The players will be grouped together according to their age category, namely in the Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13 category and in accordance with the number of applications. All those players that are interested in basketball can apply even if they are beginners. The sessions will be held during the summer months starting on Saturday 25 June and finishing with the last session on the 10 September.
There will be two breaks in this programme one in July and the other in August (during the feast of Santa Marija). Each player attending these specialised sessions will receive 20 hours of basketball training. The price for these sessions will be Lm35 and this includes a free T-shirt from the sponsor of these sessions, Eurosport.
Those who would like to participate in these sessions are kindly requested to fill in the appropriate application form or contact Carlo Farrugia on mobile 99453434 or e-mail [email protected]
