The Union Haddiema Maghqudin has complained about the delays regarding talks on the collective agreement for clerical staff employed with local councils.
To date the union was not informed as to when the talks could start, despite the fact that it had sent its proposals for the collective agreement over a year and a half ago. The UHM blamed the delay on the government, saying it had failed to identify who would be leading these talks.
UHM insisted that it cannot accept a situation whereby an agreement it has with the local council association or the department for local government is not honoured.
To this effect, UHM said that it had informed Justice and Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg of the matter and requested his immediate intervention.
