Polo: Prestigious Cawnpore Cup To be played for today at Marsa ground

The Malta Polo Club will be holding the final and most prestigious match of the season, The Cawnpore Cup.

The Cup was minted in 1901 and presented to the Cawnpore Polo Club, where it stayed until 1947 when it came to the Malta Polo Club, donated by Lord Louis Mountbatten.

The cup is traditionally played for by the top eight available players at the close of the season. This year’s teams are as follows:

Wildcats: Ivan Camilleri, Matthew Borg, Martin Arrigo and Mark Darmanin.

Warriors: Chris Delia, Patrick Filletti, Julian Mamo and Karl Galea.

Spectators can watch the match for free: access is from the Marsa Sports Club road, opposite the temporary entrance.
