Judo: Marcon Bezzina To compete in the world championships in Cairo

Nineteen year old Olympian Marcon Bezzina, Malta’s golden girl of Judo, won praise not only from the San Gwann Local Council but also of the Judo Federation and the University of Bath where she studies.

Recently the website of the prestigious university, where Bezzina is continuing her studies, featured an article praising Marcon for her golden success at the recent Games in Andorra.

The Bath University is rated best in Great Britain by The Guardian for its sports research and teaching.

On her return from Andorra, Bezzina continued her preparation to maintain her peak performance and was recently joined by the Italian coach Nicolangelo Fetto. Together they are leaving the island on Sunday for Almeria, in Spain, where she will be taking part in the 57kg category next week on Wednesday, feast of St Peter and St Paul.

On her return, she will start preparing for her participation in the the World Championships in Cairo, Egypt, in September.
