Malta Olympic Committee President, Mr Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco was yesterday elected to sit on the Executive of the Mediterranean Games Committee during the General Assembly held in Almeria, Spain.

His election was the result of the useful international contacts made both by Mr Justice Farrugia Sacco and also the secretary general, Joe Cassar. It is believed he is the first ever Maltese to occupy a post on the executive committee of the Mediterranean Games Council.

The Agenda included addresses by various personalities including the President of the Mediterranean Games, Mr Amar Addadi and the President of the Organising Committee of the Almeria Games, Mr Juan Megino. The report of the Secretary General and the Audited Accounts were approved by the General Assembly.

Andorra has also joined the fold as a full member.
