The new administration of Channel 22 intends to honour the existing schedule. At the same time, however, it plans to make changes, Education Minister Louis Galea told Carmelo Abela.
These changes include:
1. The summer schedule is introducing new programmes, produced, as far as possible, from in-house sources in order to reduce dependence on commercial production houses.
2. A call for expression of interest has been issued so that a number of educational programmes can be self-financing.
3. Where production houses must still be used, there will be a call for tenders.
4. There will be an internal reorganisation and a better use of the staff in order to cut down on the need for outsourcing.
