Vodafone has reduced the cost of local weekend calls between Vodafone numbers for its pre-paid customers to just five cents per minute. The new rate will apply for all pre-paid customers for a period of 30 days after topping up with a Lm6 card between 1 July 2005 and 30 September 2005.

Vodafone customers who top-up their account with a Lm6 card will receive an SMS within two hours informing them that they can immediately begin making local weekend calls to other Vodafone numbers at the rate of 5c per minute. In the 30 days after topping up with the Lm6 top-up card, customers can increase their credit by topping up with any pre-paid card and continue to benefit from this special rate.

The rate of five cents per minute is the lowest ever in Malta.. Also the card also allows customers to SMS at the usual rate of two cents per SMS.
