Two men were critically injured on Saturday after falls they suffered in separate incidents – one in Attard and the other in Xghajra.

The first incident occurred at around 11.15am, when a 46-year-old man, who was carrying out work on the roof of his residence in Attard, suddenly lost his balance and fell from a height of two storeys.

He was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital where he was treated for the serious head injuries he had sustained. He was said to be in critical condition.

Some two hours later, while a 52-year-old man was carrying out work on a private residence in Xghajra, he fell from a height of just over one storey. This man was also hospitalised and treated for the serious injuries he had sustained.

Birkirkara and Zabbar police are carrying out investigations into the two incidents.
