Birkirkara FC yesterday announced that Nigerian midfielder Precious Monye has signed a two-year deal that will see him playing for the club till 2007. Monye has been training with the squad since last week and will be included in the squad for next Thursday's UEFA Cup match against Apoel Nicosia of Cyprus.
The Stripes have also announced that they have signed a goalkeeper, David Simons, from the Czech Republic. The goalie, who arrived in Malta on Sunday, has signed a one-year contract with the club with a further two-year option. David Simons is also eligible to play against Apoel as the Stripes obtained permission from UEFA to have their deadline to sign a new goalie extended till tomorrow.
