Court: Vendor Claims unfair withdrawal of permits

Malta Independent Friday, 15 July 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

A fast food vendor has filed a judicial protest against the Pembroke local council for revoking two permits which were issued to him for the recent Pink Floyd concert.

Philip Attard said he was issued two take-away food stands for two different sites at Luxol Sports Ground during The Australian Pink Floyd – The Best of Pink Floyd Show on 25 June.

He said on the eve of the concert, the Pembroke local council and the St Julian’s police told him that the permits had been revoked. In fact, he was sent a notice of revocation along with a refund of any fees he had paid.

The complainant said that such actions were abusive and illegal and caused him financial loss. He requested the council to pay compensation and reserved the right to further action.

Dr Toni Abela signed the protest.
