Malta’s Under 18 girls team finished fourth in the Promotion Cup in Scotland when yesterday they lost the match for third place against Albania 72-62.

The day before, in the quarter-finals, the Maltese girls were narrowly beaten 68-66 by Luxembourg, just missing a place in the final.

That was certainly Malta’s best match in the tournament. They came back strongly after Luxembourg were leading by eight points till the end of the third session to lead by six points in the fourth session, before Luxembourg rallied to win by two points.
