Pieta, former Birkirkara and Malta goalkeeper Saviour Darmanin was on his first day of an official trial with Welsh club Wrexham yesterday.

He said he had a very good day which included some good training in the morning.

In the afternoon, he went to Melwood, Liverpool’s training ground, where he had the opportunity to train with the reserves team members, but there were also some first team players who were left behind as they do not form part of today’s squad for the Champions League match against TNS of Wales.

Darmanin described his first day as a fantastic start to his Welsh adventure.
