In these past two days, the Maltese athletes could also train in the Spanish capital while the Maltese officials met those from Spain.
Upon their arrival in Spain the Maltese athletes, will be staying, with about some other 1200 athletes, at the Auditorium Hotel and will have the opportunity to visit the various sports complexes prior to the start of the Games.
Malta will be taking part in six different sports events this year, namely basketball, futsal, handball, athletics, swimming and tennis.
The Games will be played between 24 and 28 July under the motto ‘your spirit is our goal’.
Before leaving Malta, Bro Borg expressed high hopes that these Games will bring satisfaction to all the Maltese contingent.
“Hopefully these Games help our athletes to develop not only from the sporting view but also from the moral, pastoral and psychological side” he said.
