If Maltese art gets your pulse going then make sure you get over to St Julian's in September to view The Vivaldi Arts Expression, a local exhibition with a difference. The varied works of a group of hand-selected local artists are being shown at the Golden Tulip Vivaldi Hotel, St Julian's from 1 to 8 September.

“What we have at the Vivaldi is a vibrant ocean of works of art that will most probably light up the world of whoever sees them,” said Christine Calleja, the event's art director.

The Vivaldi Arts Expression exhibition will showcase the work of 20 local artists and will include wood and Maltese limestone sculptures and photography, alongside more traditional style paintings. Six to eight pieces of work by each artist will be seen at The Vivaldi including pieces by; Ray Azzopardi, who has previously exhibited locally and abroad; Robert Camilleri, who was responsible for photography at both the Millennium and EU celebrations; Jeanine Cauchi's surrealist paintings; Chris Zarb, a self-taught artist and David Xuereb, who believes every painting should be unique.

Apart from the obvious connection to the musical arts with its name, the superior four-star Vivaldi hotel was chosen to house the exhibition for its style and elegance, said the organiser.

The Vivaldi is part of the global Golden Tulip group of hotels which guarantee internationally high standards.

The Vivaldi has a luxury spa and is home to the renowned restaurant, Antonio's.

For more information on the exhibition contact Stephen Coppini at the Golden Tulip Vivaldi Hotel, St Julians on 2137-8100.
