Valletta, with sspended coach Anthony Farrugia, had a comfortable win against the Gozitans, although they were denied in the opening session. From then on they established control on the game and no less than eight of their players put their names on the scorers’ list. Otters’ Stephen Grech was the game’s top scorer with his hat-trick, including a penalty, which however was to no avail. Otters lost all their four man-ups whilst Valletta scored in three out of five occasions.

At long last Marsaxlokk gained their first league win, disposing of Ta’ Xbiex after a balanced first session.

Ta’ Xbiex, without mentor Aldo Scerri for the second time this wekend, were found wanting in the following two sessions as Marsaxlokk increased their lead.

Ta’ Xbiex staged a comeback in the final session, scoring three times in succession but that was not enough and Marsaxlokk were not troubled at the end. They managed two goals on seven man-up occasions whilst their opponents only managed a sole goal in four instances.
