Next Saturday the Hockey fraternity will welcome Aardvarks HC from Manchester, England.

This will be the group’s third visit to the island. Their first trip to Malta was way back in 1984 as Trent Polytechnic and their second tour was in 1998 as The Disillusioned Aardvarks.

The Aardvarks will play two games, the first being on Tuesday 16 August against Young Stars Veterans at 8pm.

The following day, they will cross sticks against a local selection of Veterans at 8.30pm.

The average age of the team will be 45 years while that of the locals will be 50 years. Both matches will be played at the Kordin Hockey Complex.

The general public and particularly all hockey enthusiasts are encouraged to flock to watch the games.

These games will surely provide a spectacle to young and not so young!
