It was another great Friday for M’Scala as they managed to notch a point after grabbing a late equaliser against Neptunes with a late rally in the final two sessions after previously being twice three goals in arrears 4-1 and 5-2.

A determined defence and effective shooting in the latter stages were the fulcrum for M’Scala’s comeback led by talented coach Pierre Borg. In fact they would be tops if one had to make a mini-table composed of M’Scala together with Sliema and Neptunes!

Neptunes have only themselves to blame as they could have put the game in the bag earlier but they looked and a slipshod lot in the final sessions unaided also by Ian Bugeja’s fine showing in M’Scala’s goal. It seems they cannot emerge from a jinx despite all their good intentions.

Despite a late time-out by returning coach Sergio Afric, Neptunes messed their last possession to the delight of the M’Scala team and supporters. On the contrary Neptunes were a subdued lot knowing fully well that their derby against rivals Sliema, next Friday, is a do-or-die affair for them.
