WasteServ would like to inform Iklin residents that until an alternative site is identified, they are to use the bring-in sites of the surrounding localities.

The Iklin bring-in site was removed due to numerous acts of vandalism and illegal dumping. The bring-in site in Iklin was even set alight some weeks ago. The problems of the Iklin bring-in site were a result of its location. It was situated in an uninhabited area, which discouraged the residents to make use of but it encouraged illegal dumping in the surrounding area.

Talks are currently underway between WasteServ and the Iklin local council to find an alternative site which is in a more prominent area and closer to residents. This will encourage residents to dispose of their recyclable materials in a more environmental friendly manner and without causing any inconvenience to the neighbourhood.
