A Libyan man was sentenced to a two-year jail term suspended for four after he admitted indecent violent assault.
Mahmoud Mohammed O. Abudraa, 24, living in Bugibba, pleaded guilty yesterday to committing an indecent violent assault on a woman on 4 September at around 1am in a St Julian’s public garden. He also admitted offending public morals and being in possession of an unlicensed knife.
Presiding magistrate Anthony Vella sentenced the man to a two-year jail term suspended for four years and explained that were he to commit another crime within the next four years, he will have to serve the two-year prison term.
Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted while Dr Beppe Fenech Adami appeared for the accused.
