BMW Williams Formula One driver Antonio Pizzonia was the guest of Muscats Motors Ltd yesterday as he paid a short visit to Malta to launch the charity fund raising event in aid of the Ursuline Sisters of St Rita Home in Tarxien.
The sisters offer a home and services required to 20 needy children and the campaign is intended to raise awareness of the Ursuline sisters’ work in the community as well as to attract corporate sponsors to make donations, as well as receiving donations from the public.
The organisers have called the event Kids 4 Kids and it is designed to attract the support of the Maltese public.
BMW Group Malta and Muscats Motors Ltd have manufactured a customised inflatable race track for children aged 2, 3 and 4 to compete in this track with MBW push cars.
The series of events is planned for this month and October starting next Sunday in Sliema, opposite the Preluna Hotel between 3pm and 7pm.
The second event is to be held on Wednesday 21 September near the Grabiel Restaurant in Marsascala, again between 3pm and 7pm.
The third event will be held in Valletta on Saturday 24 September between 9am and 1pm while the final event is being held at Portomaso, in front of the Luxe Pavilion on Sunday 2 October, between 3pm and 7pm.
Parents can register their children (ages between 2 and 4) for participation by contacting the organisers’ hotline 23162000 or by going early before the events. Participation is free of charge, but the organisers are urging everyone to donate Lm1 or more towards this charity.
Sr Magdalene Cauchi of the Ursuline Sisters said yesterday the building needed refurbishing badly and it costs a lot of money for the works to be completed.
