San Giljan made a giant step towards the seasonal double when they overcame the challenge offered by Exiles for the second time within a week.

After beating the Sliema-based side 7-5 last Saturday so as to notch their third consecutive second division title, the Saints yesterday won by a bigger margin, 10-6, and now start as firm favourites for tomorrow’s final against Marsaxlokk.

Exiles were practically never in the game, apart from the initial stages when they took the lead

Southerners Marsaxlokk managed to qualify for the KO final and thus end their season on quite a good note after greatly disappointing in the initial stages of the season.

After eliminating Ta Xbiex with a golden goal, 7-6, earlier this week, M’Xlokk beat minnows Otters with a three goal margin.
