A considerable number of local clubs are thought to be ready to contest the recent agreement which the Malta Basketball Association (MBA) reached with the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP).
Last week, Magistrate Tonio Mizzi, MBA president, announced that the two bodies had agreed to extend an agreement for a further four years, with the Italians accepting Maltese players as Italians to be able to play in the Italian league.
The MBA president also announced that Josephine Grima would be the first Maltese player to play under this concession. She is registered to play for Sicily’s Priolo team.
